Job Overview

You’ll build and scale the infrastructure that powers Flames’ AI coding platform. This role is about reliability, performance, and systems thinking — not just writing APIs. You’ll design backend systems that handle real workloads, large-scale data, and low-latency requirements for developers using AI in production.

What You'll Do

• Architect APIs and services that support high-performance, low-latency applications

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems and infrastructure

• Manage cloud infrastructure, deployments, and CI/CD pipelines

• Improve system reliability, monitoring, and observability

• Optimize performance, cost, and scalability across services

• Work closely with product and frontend teams to ship features end-to-end

• Ensure security, data integrity, and system resilience

• Debug complex production issues and implement long-term fixes

What We're Looking For

• Strong proficiency in backend languages (Node.js, Python, Go, or similar)

• 4+ years of experience in backend engineering or infrastructure roles

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)

• Solid understanding of distributed systems, databases, and system design

• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced environments
